Jonah Hill has made a documentary about his therapist, Phil Stutz. I watched it last night and was transfixed...
"What has this got to do with Journaling", I hear you cry! Well, everything. Please have a read and then watch this documentary.
His unique style is to actually give his patients tools to work on their issues. Most therapists will simply listen and guide you. Mr Stutz tells it like it is and his relationship with Jonah is a special one.
His tools include things like knowing about ‘The Shadow’, ‘Radicle Acceptance’, The Grateful Flow’ and the one that struck me the most was your “Life Force”.
When talking about your Life Force, he mentions JOURNALING.
Your Life Force is shaped in a Pyramid. The base of the pyramid is your relationship with your own physical body. This is about looking after yourself in terms of exercising, eating, and sleeping.
The middle section of the pyramid is about people, and your relationship with them.
Finally, and the most important part is the tip of the pyramid, your relationship with yourself. This is about activating your unconscious.
How do you do this? BY JOURNALING.
You enhance the relationship with yourself by writing because writing is like a mirror which reflects your unconscious. Whilst Journaling, things will come out that you didn’t know that you knew.
That’s the SECRET to Journaling; learning more about yourself than you thought possible.
