The Power of Positive Journaling

When Journaling, the Power of Positivity should be something you focus on.

So far this Summer we've seen lots of positivity in the world. If you haven't seen this, then maybe you're looking in the wrong places.

Focus on the Positive

It's easier (as human beings) to focus on the negativity which is given to us on a regular basis. Not just by the people around us, but by large media companies too; unfortunately, Bad News Sells and I am not about to add to that by listing all the bad things that are going on around. Instead, I choose to focus on the good things that are happening all around us, and it's this stuff we need to concentrate on.

On a large scale, look at the Lionesses success in he EUFA Women's Euro Championship! England only went and won it. This has caused a huge tidal wave of pleasure across the nation, and has been celebrated by a massive cross-section of the community. It is causing ripples which will hopefully still be felt for years to come.

Festival season is upon us. What's wrong about being outdoors, listening to great music, surrounded by a group of like-minded people all having a great time? NOTHING. We should celebrate this.

Something good can come out of global warming

The weather has been great. OK, this is largely down to global warming which has far reaching repercussions for the future, but at the same time, when the sun shines, it simply makes you feel good. Plus, if you're doing your bit to prevent global warming, then that should give you an enormous sense of well being too. I am not for one minute attempting to make light of the effect global warming is having on our planet.

What about you?

On a personal scale, how about being grateful for the simple things in life. The cost-of-living is increasing but there are so many free pleasures all around us, we just need to focus on those.

Getting outdoors, walking, sitting on a beach, cycling through the woods, admiring a view, these are just some of the free things that we can do in our spare time.

Journal about positivity

When I Journal, I always write down 3 things I'm grateful for on a daily basis. This has definitely made me more aware of the small things in life that I sometimes take for granted. Sometimes, it'll be a banana in my fruit bowl. Other times, it'll be a warm day with the time to enjoy it. It can be something more significant, like a life-long friendship or the fact there is money in my bank account to pay some bills; either way, as long as you are noticing positive things around you, more positive things will happen to you.

Like the picture on this article says, "see the good". We often focus on the bad, it's human nature to do that... but it doesn't have to be.
