You Are CURABLE

You may think you're broken...but Journaling might just be the answer!

YOU ARE CURABLE and Journaling might just be the answer!

No matter how you think or feel about yourself, Journaling can help alleviate those thoughts. It can help you understand why you think the way you do and set you up to feel better about yourself, forever!

Let’s look at the world CURABLE first. To some extent we probably all feel a little broken. Whether you’re feeling tired and defeated, or overwhelmed and just not content, life can just feel a bit hard at times.

You're Not Broken, Journaling can help

I definitely used to feel this way… and what made it worse was that I felt bad for thinking that way. I had a job I loved, a family I adored, and from the outside looking in, life certainly seemed to be looking after me. But it just didn’t feel that way. And at the time, I didn’t admit it. I just kept on keeping on.

There’s a famous quote which is credited to Henry Ford (founder of FORD Motor Company), “If you always do what you’ve always done, you'll always get what you’ve always got". Now, the ironic thing about this phrase was, I loved it so much, that I had it (and still do) as the footer on my private email. But I still wasn’t living it. I KNEW something needed to change but I wasn’t really doing anything different. It wasn’t until I started Journaling that I discovered that I could feel better, I did deserve success and there was a CURE!

Journaling did so much for me. It completely changed my mindset and freed me up to believe in myself and forgive myself too.

Conquer Those Doubts

Everyone doubts themselves, EVERYONE. Can you imagine being Barrack Obama! Whilst he was brushing his teeth in the morning, gazing at his reflection in the mirror, do you think he ever doubted himself? Yep, 100% he did. But did he let that stop him from becoming the first black President of the United States? NOPE! He Conquered his Doubts.

Understand Yourself Better

Do you sometimes think to yourself, ‘why do I think that way? Is it just me? Does anyone else think like me?’ Journaling allows you to be completely honest with yourself. By writing down what we REALLY feel and think, it not only releases it from our thoughts, it allows us to see it in written form. This may just be a temporary thought, or it may be an ingrained behaviour, but by seeing it written down, you will begin to understand yourself better and learn to accept yourself for who you are – not a bad person!

Reduce The Stress You Feel

It is scientifically proven, that by writing in a journal, you will lower your stress levels. THAT’S SCIENCE FACT! What actually happens is that we’re confessing. Confessing to a piece of paper. By completing this confessional ritual, we are releasing it from our thoughts, and most importantly, our bodies. That stress is held inside of you, and it is NOT doing you any good. There is nothing bad about lowering our stress levels, NOTHING!

Achieve Your Goals

By writing down your goals, you are turning them into reality. If you don’t write them down, they simply remain as a thought. But, if you compose that thought and put it down on a piece of paper, it is much more likely to happen. Your thoughts influence your actions, so writing them down makes so much sense.

Boost Your Immune System

How does journaling boost your immune system? Well again, this is the science behind journaling. By writing emotionally, we release the tension that we have been holding inside. This tension can be held as stress and by releasing it we allow our white blood cells, the ones that are there to help your immune system operate properly, go back to doing what they do best, fighting against the diseases that our bodies are being attacked by, constantly.

Learn To Be Grateful

Gratitude is something most of us could work on a little more. Being grateful for the little things in life will amplify your gratitude ten-fold when the big things in life begin to happen. Plus, when you’re being grateful, it is impossible to feel bad. When you start to think positively, there is a surge of feel-good chemicals such as dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin in your brain. These all contribute to the feeling of happiness that comes with gratitude.

Ease Your Anxiety

Anxiety can be alleviated by writing about it. It’s just you and the piece of paper, so you can be really honest with it; there’s no judgement in return. Plus, you can only write about one topic at a time, so Journaling forces you to slow down, organise your thoughts, and focus on them one at a time. Repeating this behaviour when you’re feeling anxious will provide you with greater clarity on those concerns, and help you identify the patterns and the emotions that accompany your anxiety.
